We are delighted to introduce our latest collaboration with Muzungu Sisters
This unique collaboration witnesses the exciting debut of Muzungu Sisters artisanal embroidery with La Coqueta’s classic styles. The collection is a natural meeting of brands, with a focus on traditional craftsmanship.
Creating the collection Celia, Tatiana & Dana spent time looking at patterns, smocks and embroideries, creating designs that feel like a perfect marriage of both brands, bringing fashion-forward womenswear to childrenswear. The collection features materials that are uncomplicated and good quality such as Linen, Cotton and Plumetti, that are intimately linked with The Muzungu Sisters and La Coqueta’s lifestyle.
We both love dressing our children in La Coqueta’s beautiful clothes and were sure that combining Celia’s delicate and traditional creations with Muzungu Sisters’s ethnic influences would look amazing so we decided to approach Celia about a collaboration - she loved the idea!

Founder, Muzungu Sisters
Both Tatiana and I love the brand and the respect Celia has for traditional craftsmanship. Just like Muzungu Sisters, every La Coqueta piece is timeless and can be worn for generations to come.

Founder, Muzungu Sisters
At the heart of both La Coqueta and Muzungu Sisters is the focus on traditional craftsmanship.
The Muzungu Sisters collections feature exclusive products handcrafted in a sustainable manner, by local artisans from diverse cultures around the world, from textiles handwoven in Colombia by female members of the indigenous Wayuu tribe to lovingly hand-embroidered designs, sewn by third-generation embroiderers in Hungary.
At La Coqueta every garment’s origin can be traced back to a Spanish family run business and the skills and methods used are decades old. Hand smocked dresses are a classic La Coqueta item, each handmade by small groups of women who have set up their own atelier and who have learnt their skills and technique from the generations of women before them.
Both brands share a love for craftsmanship. We love supporting the continuation of traditional techniques such as hand embroidery, smocking etc. I love the fact that the Muzungu Sisters projects an image that is understated and discreet but equally focuses on quality and customer service.
