Thanksgiving is a special time of year, the holiday commemorates being thankful and after the turbulent past two years with the pandemic, it seems like a very appropriate occasion to celebrate, no matter where you are in the world. Whilst it is so important to be thankful each and every day, this year feels like a special coming together moment where we can appreciate the hard work and celebrate family, after a period that has made it feel harder to be reflective and thankful. So, whether you are spending the day with comfort food snuggling in front of the football or getting dressed up for the occasion, we hope you are enjoying it surrounded by family and friends, dressed to the nines!
As ever, always looking to our community for inspiration, we spoke to one of our favourite fashionable mums, Samantha Wennerstrom, about her plans for Thanksgiving this year. Samantha is the Founder of Could I Have That and Co-Founder of Wrel Living, a super stylish curation of luxury lifestyle essentials that will have you drooling. Samantha kick-started her venture with the help of her friend, Alicia Lund, who shares her love and inspiration for gathering family and friends around the dinner table and decorating it in a fitting manner, entirely appropriate for Thanksgiving this year. So if you are in the market for some new and incredibly stylish crockery, or perhaps an early Christmas gift, do check out their lifestyle curation.

The mother of two young girls, Elin and Lila, Samantha dishes the goss on what a traditional Thanksgiving looks like in her household:
How will you be spending Thanksgiving with your family this year?
We are hosting at our house which is always so fun and special—I love dressing up the table and planning recipes that the girls can help with as well.
As someone who owns a lifestyle brand, we would love to hear about your Thanksgiving tablescape. Are there any must-haves?
I love playing with colour and usually lean towards soft, warm neutrals with bits of gold and lots of candles. I also love ordering hand-dyed silk ribbons from Tono & Co to tie around napkins in a contrasting colour.
Are there any special family traditions that you’re excited to bring back?
We started this little game last year where everyone writes something they're grateful for and puts it in a bowl. We take turns taking one out, reading it and guessing who wrote it! The next day we always go for a big hike in the morning and come home for leftovers.
Will the family be dressing up this year?
We always get dressed up for Thanksgiving, Elin usually requests a Shirley Temple in a "fancy glass", one of her favourite things lately.
What La Coqueta pieces are you excited to style this fall?
Black bow ballerina shoes—love these for the holidays—Green Daniela dress and grey Orfa cardigan.
As ever at La Coqueta, we are eternally thankful for our incredible community that continue to support us. We wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and hope you are able to spend this year celebrating with your nearest and dearest.
