If you’ve seen our Autumn/Winter collection photography this year, The Holly Bush may look very familiar to you! Just down the road from our original La Coqueta store location sits this homely little slice of Hampstead heaven.
A real gem of a London local, The Holly Bush is a charming centuries-old pub in the heart of historic Hampstead. Step inside the grade II listed building and you’ll discover a wealth of cosy corners to call your own, as well as delicious food for the whole family to enjoy!
We chat to Martin, Sales and Events Manager at The Holly Bush, to gain more insight into this lovely Hampstead local.
What sets The Holly Bush apart from other pubs?
We have a unique historical building which has been largely unchanged for the last 300 years. We have been awarded Master Cellarman for our ales which mean we keep our beers to a very high standard and have an extensive wine list including a cellar selection with 95% of the wines only available to us. Our food offering combines traditional English dishes with a European element to our menu with all our produce fresh from UK suppliers. Our food cooked by a highly skilled kitchen team whom take pride in their work and continually aim to develop our menu with passion and commitment found in many good restaurants.
How are your festive menus curated?
We are part of Fuller’s which has developed Fuller’s Kitchen to deliver exceptional food. Our festive menus this year were developed by the top talent in Fuller’s including our Head Chef Jamie Stone from the Holly Bush. All the recipes were developed by our chefs during kitchen development days during the late summer, however planning for Christmas started in January 2018.
“Creating restaurant quality food is no easy task. It takes a rare blend of skill and imagination, not to mention a desire for perfection. That’s why you’ll find a great Chef in every Fuller’s Kitchen.”
What is your favourite thing about the Hampstead area?
Hampstead is a village and a community, close enough to London to enjoy what the city has to offer, but far away enough to escape for from the bright lights of the capital. I’ve really enjoyed being part of the community here, we do many things to support our community; everything from offering space to photography and film students, or those just starting out in their careers by making the Holly Bush accessible to them, to bigger projects like Holly Bush Woman Painter Prize which we started in 2017.
Why is The Holly Bush great for families?
We have many families come at the weekend for Saturday and Sunday lunch, we have plenty of highchairs and a children’s menu which is great for the little ones. We have fun Children’s educational colouring sheets with crayons developed by Fuller’s Kitchen to keep them occupied whilst learning about food, how it’s made, and who our suppliers are that provide the ingredients for their food.
Perfect for cosy family meals this Christmas season, they also offer their festive menus until the 21st of December, as well as a special Christmas Day set menu.
