COVID-19 RESPONSE

 
On 19 December the UK Government increased measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus and save lives with immediate effect. All non-essential businesses have now closed, however, our online store continues to remain open and is accessible 24/7. We are working effectively with our third-party warehouse to ensure the team closely follow advice from the World Health Organisation and Public Health England in order to continue serving clients in the safest way possible.
 
Currently delivery to the UK, US and ROW are not affected however due to recent UK border restrictions there are delivery delays on all EU orders.

Will remain closed until further notice. 

UK Orders

At present, all UK parcel operations will continue as normal. All our third-party courier depots and hubs are working as normal and have no closures affecting any sites. Our third-party courier drivers are using non-contact options such as ‘Deliver to Neighbour’ and ‘Safe Place’ if a client does not want to sign a handheld device due to fears of transmission. Both the UK third-party couriers we work with have flexible measures in place in their hubs and depots to plan and process, as usual, working with additional staff in order to meet your delivery requirements.

EU Orders

We are currently experiencing severe delivery delays on all orders shipping to the EU. All EU orders will not be dispatched until at least 13th January 2021, when our EU courier provider DPD intends to re-commence shipments. 

US & ROW  Orders

At present, international orders are largely continuing, as usual, however, we are seeing minor shipping delays to countries with special measures or restrictions in place.
 

BREXIT

Although a trade deal was negotiated between the UK and the EU, some EU orders will now incur additional charges due to children's clothing and footwear being VAT exempt in the UK. The VAT rate payable is dependant on the country and does vary. Please check your local VAT office for children's clothing and footwear rates. All VAT charges will be payable in your local country before the goods will be released and are the responsibility of the receiver. 

What Does This Mean?

La Coqueta Kids will continue to trade as normal, processing your orders from our UK based warehouse. For our UK, US and ROW (non-EU) clients, there will be no change to how you receive your La Coqueta Kids order.

EU Customers

As children's clothing and footwear is VAT exempt in the UK, this will now be payable in the country of delivery. Please note that VAT rates vary from country to country so please do check your local VAT office to see the VAT fee payable on delivery. 

We are working on a solution with our E-com technical partners that will allow us to charge the correct VAT at the checkout and we will move to ship our EU orders DDP (“Delivery Duty Paid) as soon as possible.

VAT Exemptions

Young children’s clothing and footwear is VAT exempt in the UK.

After 31st December 2020, depending on your location in the EU, you may be charged VAT.

Deliveries

We expect all EU deliveries to experience delays in the early stages of this transition, we will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated accordingly.
