Kids Shoes & Footwear | La Coqueta Kids
La Coqueta's children's shoes collection blends traditional Spanish craftsmanship with timeless design, offering cute and comfortable footwear for your little one. Each pair of these cute kids shoes is meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans, ensuring durability and elegance in every step.
How often should I replace my child's footwear?
If you’re wondering how long kids' shoes last, it essentially depends on the quality of the design. La Coqueta’s shoes are crafted by artisans in independent family-owned ateliers and designed by our team of experts to be durable and long-lasting, created from supple Nappa leather. You should replace your child's footwear when they outgrow their shoes, which is usually around 4 times a year for toddlers ages 1-3, every 6 months for ages 4-8 and once a year for ages 9-12. If your child outgrows their shoes before they wear them out, you can save them for a younger sibling or family member and treat your La Coqueta leather shoes with care polishes in the meantime.
Should I buy insoles for my child's shoes?
Insoles can support the healthy development of your child’s feet and might help to prevent any future serious foot problems. Insoles can provide pain relief for the foot, ankle, and leg, and focus on aligning feet into a healthy position when standing, walking, or playing. If your child hasn’t developed an arch or complains about foot pain, we would recommend consulting a podiatrist first to assess if there is a more serious condition. Simple over-the-counter insoles can be helpful if your child’s shoes run on the larger side, or for School Shoes that need a little extra comfort to help break in.
How quickly do children's feet grow?
Children’s feet grow very quickly, and during their first 3-4 years can grow as much as two sizes up each year. By school age, growth slows to around one size up per year, and between the ages of 6-10 children’s feet grow around less than 1mm per month in length.
When do children’s feet stop growing?
Girl’s feet usually stop growing around the age of 14, whereas boy’s feet will commonly stop growing at 16. This is when feet are fully developed adult feet with grown bones and strong foot muscles, however some feet don’t reach full size until the ages of 20-21. Teenagers can often have later growth spurts, as hormonal changes affect everyone differently.
How do I measure children’s feet?
Read our helpful guide on how to measure children’s feet at home, ensuring your little one always has the most comfortable and well-fitting pair of shoes on hand for their next adventure.
How do I care for my child’s shoes?
To get the most wear out of your special La Coqueta shoes, we recommend following our care guide to ensure they stay in tip-top condition. We use luxurious Nappa leather, crafted from goat or calf leather, which has a durable yet buttery soft finish. High-quality leather requires a small amount of cleaner and conditioner 2-3 times a year to ensure your favourite shoes don’t dry out or lose any special characteristics.
